Each year The Geological Society picks a theme and 2020 is the Year of Life.
Throughout the year programs will explore life in a geoscience context through research conferences, lectures, education and other Society activities.
Tools are available from the organization for teachers and classrooms the world over. Topics include early life on planet earth, life in the depths of the oceans to the future of our planet and the possibility of life on Mars and other planets. Researchers, industry, economists and government bodies, as well as partner geoscience societies and organizations are all welcomed to get involved in this year long celebration of life.
